| Copyright & Use Statement |
The images in my galleries are protected by international copyright law (whatiscopyright.org) . By visiting my galleries you are granted a personal liscense to download and use specific images as wallpaper on your personal computer and to share them with your friends and family. EXCEPTIONS: Students: you may use my graphics on your personal website but only if it is on a .edu or other educational domain (like "k12.*" or something recognizable as being a school web server). I do ask that you post a meaningful link to my site somewhere near the graphics you are using and that you send me your URL so I can check things out. A banner or button would probably bring you good Karma. The last exemption is for Impact Media Supporters. If you would like to use my work on your personal web page, please sign up for my members gallery when it becomes available online. Once inside you can register your site with me so I know who you are and where my works are posted. Images may be resized but I ask that you do not crop or otherwise modify them. I do not do "clipart" and my images are not "stock photography" for you to alter or "improve". They do not fall under "Fair Use" provisions either. Each is a distinctive work of art that has been potentially seen by thousands of people around the world. Chances are good that visitors to your site will be familiar with my work and will contact me if they see that my work has been incorporated into another design. This has been the case already. I also encode each file with a name/copyright mark that is traceable even if the image is renamed or recopied. It's not voodoo - it's technology developed to protect serious artists like myself. This watermark is search-engine searchable and believe me... I run searches. There can be no exceptions to the above stated rules. REMEMBER: An unanswered email does not imply permission. As my art and designs are commercial ventures for myself and are used commercially by other individuals or groups as well I actively pursue copyright infringements via an attorney specializing in business and copyright law. I do not pursue these matters for the purpse of monetary gain, although there is a always an element of significant monetary damages assigned. I legally pursue copyright infractions out of principle and as such make no distinction between "big companies" or individuals. So, be advised of this in case you were thinking that you are too small for me to bother with and can sneak under the radar... more than one person or group has been surprised at how sincere the above statements really are. |
